This house was built in 1901 as a savings bank building with some offices for the market town. After the savings bank moved to a new building, the house was finally adapted as a municipal office.
On the left-hand side of the building you can see the old 'coat of arms of the former princely market' with the duke's hat and shield, while on the right-hand side a stone plaque commemorates the courageous action of three citizens on 28 May 1809 against the threat of being pillaged by the Saxons during the French War.
